I have come to see that I have immense control over this experience, regarding both myself and others. The positive or negative energy that I create and absorb surrounds us all, and has far-reaching consequences in every single case. Acts of kindness generate love, happiness and generosity way beyond their own apparent purpose, setting off a chain reaction of positive experience in all the beings involved. Conversely, acts of negative behaviour - any act that goes against the best interest of oneself or others - have the exact same affect. They serve to further the bitter, selfish and damaging feelings that generated them in the first place.
This is where our opinions might differ, yet I am always pleasantly surprised at how similar most schools of thought really are. There seems to be some sort of presence that generates, stores and manages this realm of existence in which we live. It goes by many names and has been both a unifying and incredibly divisive concept within the human race, in the form of the religions of the world. In my efforts to understand and simplify these thoughts, as well as create some sort of moral code, I have come to consider myself as an agent within this universe. I have the moral imperative of ensuring that the effect I have is as positive as I can make it, so that the flow of energy that surrounds us is channeled in a direction that I am happy with.
Merely being aware of the energy that you produce will naturally aid in this process, guiding you towards consistently bringing the best out of yourself and others while giving you the presence of mind and strength needed to absorb and break the cycles of negative energy that you encounter.
Whatever your beliefs, I think, some thought on this will lead you to similar conclusions. I myself enjoy the idea of a Universal Consciousness - a pool of experience of all beings, matter and whatever else there might be. Swimming in this pool are all my actions, words, thoughts and energy. Despite the fact that so much of my being is beyond my doing and my control, the essence of my life seems to be mine to decide, and commitment to lighting up my little world with as much positive energy as I can muster appears to me to be the only logical course of action.
Our worlds collide as you read this, and I hope the legacy of these words will reflect in the happiness and prosperity of all around you.
Much love!
